WTC Mumbai Pays Tribute to Its Founder Bharat Ratna Dr. M. Visvesvaraya on his 64th Death Anniversary

Mumbai, April 14, 2026:World Trade Center Mumbai today solemnly observed the 64th death anniversary of M. Visvesvaraya, one of India’s greatest engineers, nation-builders, and visionary thinkers, whose ideas were far ahead of his time including early concepts for urban infrastructure such as metro systems and whose ideals continue to inspire generations.
Remembering his enduring legacy, Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman, World Trade Center Mumbai and President, All India Association of Industries, said, “Sir M. Visvesvaraya envisioned the establishment of a world-class international trade center in India’s commercial capital. Today, WTC Mumbai stands as a premier institution and a living embodiment of that foresight, continuing to serve the global trade and business community through research, training, trade promotion, and world-class commercial facilities, while fostering prosperity through trade and global business connectivity.”
Ms. Priya Pansare, Director, Trade & Investment Promotion, WTC Mumbai, said, “Sir M. The programme was attended by diplomats, members of the business community, and colleagues of WTC Mumbai, and concluded with a reaffirmation of WTC Mumbai’s commitment to uphold the ideals of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, while continuing to advance trade, foster innovation, and strengthen India’s presence in the global economy.
