Mumbai witnessed an unforgettable evening on Saturday, 9th May 2026 as Tech Gala – A Fashion Show With a Difference transformed the Grand Hyatt Mumbai into a celebration of courage, confidence and cutting-edge diabetes technology during DTechCon 2026.
In a first-of-its-kind showcase, children, teenagers and young adults living with Type 1 Diabetes walked the ramp with immense pride, confidently flaunting Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) sensors, insulin pumps and wearable diabetes technologies as symbols of empowerment rather than limitations. The atmosphere was electric as these young champions turned medical devices into statements of strength, resilience and modern living.
The audience, comprising leading diabetologists, endocrinologists, physicians, healthcare professionals, health-tech innovators, pharma leaders and families from across India and around the globe, responded with thunderous applause and a standing ovation that reflected the emotional impact of the evening.
The event was beautifully curated and organised by Dr Purvi Chawla, Diabetologist from Nanavati Max Mumbai , along with the founders of DTechCon. What began as a fashion showcase soon evolved into a deeply moving celebration of positivity, inclusion and technological advancement in diabetes care exclaimed Dr Jothydev Kesavadev ( president Dtech)

Adding glamour and warmth to the evening was Bollywood actor , who attended as the Guest of Honour. Delighting the audience, he joined participants on the ramp for a spontaneous dance moment and shared words of encouragement, urging everyone to embrace healthier lifestyles and use technology to their health advantage.
