Redmi 6A is the successor to Redmi 5A, ranked as the number one selling smartphone in Q2 2018 continuously for seven months, with more than three million units shipped in Q2 2018, as per IDC. Redmi 5A was also the bestselling Android phone globally in March 2018 according to Counterpoint Research.

Redmi 6 Pro with AI dual camera and an astounding two-day battery is also another proof point of Xiaomi’s focus on providing best specs, highest quality at an honest pricing.”

Redmi 6 – Dual camera, octa-core speed

Redmi 6 sports the latest Helio P22 octa-core SoC that uses an ultra-efficient 12nm processor, which consumes about 48% lesser power than comparable 28nm chipsets. It pairs a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 up to 2.0GHz with an IMG PowerVR GE-class GPU. CPU and GPU performance are up to an impressive 30% and 72% faster respectively than competitor alternatives. The CPU also features ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture that automatically switches between performance and power-efficient cores depending on tasks, so as to achieve balanced performance and power consumption.

Redmi 6 has a 5.45-inch 18:9 Full Screen Display with an HD+ resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. Its polycarbonate back panel has a look and feels akin to a brushed metal surface, and sports an arc design which symmetrically curves and gently tapers towards the edges, providing a great handfeel.

Redmi 6 has a 12MP + 5MP AI dual camera setup on the rear. The main sensor has 1.25µm large pixels—the largest among popular smartphones in this price range. Larger pixels take in more light than smaller ones, a huge advantage for improving photo quality and reducing noise, especially in low-light conditions. It also uses phase-detection autofocus (PDAF) to improve focusing speed so users won’t miss capturing important moments and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). The 5MP front camera of Redmi 6 is supported by Xiaomi’s AI Portrait mode, which renders a realistic bokeh effect with a single lens.

Out of the box, Redmi 6 runs Android Oreo-based MIUI 9.6, which comes with support for Full Screen Gestures to make best use of the screen. In the coming months, Redmi 6 will be upgraded to MIUI 10.

Redmi 6 comes in two variants: 3GB + 32GB variant priced at INR 7,999 and 3GB + 64GB variant priced at INR 9,499 as introductory prices for two months. Redmi 6 will go on sale on mi.com and Flipkart.com on 10th September, 2018 at 12 Noon. Redmi 6  also brings a first sale offer with HDFC Bank which extends a INR 500 instant cashback to all HDFC credit and debit card holders. INR 5,999 Redmi 6A offers great value

Redmi 6A adopts a similar design language and screen as Redmi 6 – 5.45” 18:9 Full Screen Display with an HD+ resolution. It sports the Helio A22 SoC which makes Redmi 6A the only smartphone in this segment with a 12nm processor. Redmi 6A’s 3000mAh all-day battery allows the phone to stay in standby mode for up to 9 days.

Redmi 6A has a 13MP rear camera featuring phase detection autofocus with Electronic Image Stabilization and a 5MP front camera—both capable of using Xiaomi’s AI Portrait mode. Redmi 6A comes with MIUI 9.6 based on Android O which has also been optimized, reducing system apps’ memory usage by nearly 30%.

Redmi 6A features AI Face Unlock for fast unlocking. Users can also choose to enable raise to wake to make it more convenient. Following the legacy from Redmi 5A, Redmi 6A also features a dedicated microSD slot besides a dual SIM slot. In addition, Redmi 6A offers dual VoLTE capabilities. It runs MIUI 9.6 based on Android Oreo, but an update to MIUI 10 will make its way in the coming months.

Redmi 6A comes in two variants: 2GB + 16GB for INR 5,999 and 2GB + 32GB for INR 6,999 as introductory prices for two months. Redmi 6A will go on sale on mi.com and Amazon.com on 19th September at 12 Noon.

Redmi 6 Pro – AI dual cameras and two-day battery

Redmi 6 Pro is a stylish and handy device with a potent Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 625 octa-core processor. With that, it pairs an AI dual camera along with a massive 4000mAh battery to deliver a two-day battery life.

Redmi 6 Pro’s 12MP + 5MP AI dual rear cameras allow you to take some stunning photos with a large 1.25μm pixel size, while the 5MP front camera ensures your selfies look great. With portrait mode on both the front and rear cameras, Redmi 6 Pro is quite the all-rounder. A 19:9 Full Screen Display with an FHD+ resolution delivers crisp picture quality with a pixel per inch ratio of 432.

The metal body ensures the phone looks and feels great, while features like face unlock, expandable storage via a 2+1 hybrid slot ensure users don’t miss out on anything.

Redmi 6 Pro comes with MIUI 9.6 out of the box based on Android Oreo, with an update to MIUI 10 due in the coming months. It comes in Black, Gold, Blue and Red colours, and in 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB variants.

Redmi 6 Pro 3GB + 32GB is priced at INR 10,999 and 4GB + 64GB variant is priced at INR 12,999. Redmi 6 Pro will go on sale on Mi.com and Amazon.com on 11th September, 2018 at 12 Noon.
