Libas Consumer Products Ltd’s Riyaz and Reshma Gangji’s  unveils first ever Sarees and Stoles in collaboration with Japanese Designers

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Riyaz and Reshma Gangji of Libas Stores have joined hands with Japanese designers to introduce an exclusive line of handcrafted pure silk sarees and stoles. The exquisite collection, meticulously crafted by artisans from Kyoto city, witnessed luminaries from various fields coming together at a glamorous wine and cheese event. The prestigious occasion was graced by the presence of Japanese Consul General, Dr. Fukahori Yasukata, who personally attended the event to celebrate this unique fusion of Indian and Japanese craftsmanship.

The event, hosted at the Pedder Road Libas Store, showcased not only the traditional Japanese silk sarees but also featured exclusive handcrafted sherwanis, creating a splendid display of cultural integration and artistic collaboration.

The highlight of the evening was the introduction of Japanese designers, presented by Mrs. Ranak M Bhuva and Mr. Mehool N Bhuva, President of the Indo-Japanese Association, Mumbai. Both dignitaries played a pivotal role in bringing this cultural exchange to fruition and were actively involved in the event.

Among the distinguished guests present were Nishant and Pawan Mahimtura, Chandni Soni, Neeraj Soni, Rajeev Paul, Mrs. Manju Ben Lodha, Mrs. Jinisha Desai, Mrs. Darshana Vasa, Mrs. Shruti Vora, Mrs. Samina, and Mrs. Umehaani Khorakiwala, Mrs. Kunika Malhotra, and many other notable personalities.

This historic collaboration marks the first-ever launch of Japanese silk sarees in India, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry woven by the skilled artisans from Kyoto city. The event not only celebrated the beauty of handcrafted textiles but also fostered cultural exchange and strengthened ties between India and Japan through the language of fashion.
