Ageas Federal Life Insurance Mumbai Half Marathon set for December 19 return

Mumbai, November , 2021: After a long Covid-induced gap of two years, the Ageas Federal Life Insurance Mumbai Half Marathon is set for a thumping comeback on December 19.

The organisers of the much-loved running event, NEB Sports, announced this on Monday, revealing that all permissions and clearances will soon be granted to recommence their various marathons across the country.

“Several new protocols will be in place for the race this year, including mandatory vaccination or RT-PCR negative tests, staggered starts, packed breakfasts, sanitisers and disposable masks to make it safe for everybody,” Race Director, Nagaraj Adiga said in a press release.

“Running, as a form of an exercise, has many benefits, both for your physical as well as mental fitness. The Ageas Federal Life Insurance marathons have been slowly but surely building the fitness movement across Mumbai & India over the years. Since the pandemic began, the focus on fitness has increased manifold, and people have realized the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle. I wish participants of the Mumbai Half Marathon the very best and urge them to follow the necessary safety protocols. I hope they encourage their friends and family to participate too,” cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar, the Brand Ambassador of Ageas Federal Life Insurance, said.

“Tremendous interest has already been shown for the Ageas Federal Mumbai Half Marathon. Entries have poured in from over 200 cities, making it one of the first and biggest marathons to get off the blocks in India,” Karthik Raman, Chief Marketing Officer, Ageas Federal Life Insurance said.

“As the Covid situation improves, more people are raring to go for physical runs and we expect great participation from running enthusiasts in the city,” he added.

The Ageas Federal Life Insurance Mumbai Half Marathon has a new home this year in the form of Wings Sports Centre (Reclamation, Bandra West). Like always, the event races include the biggie, the half-marathon (21.1 kms), the 10k and the 5k.

“The organisers intend to limit the numbers based on permissions from the government. We are very close to reaching our target already. Registrations are, however, open till December 4,” Adiga said.
