Interview with Kiran Agarwal,World of Kiran Agarwal, (WOKA) Utube Channel
What do you propose to the audience by the name WOKA?
WOKA which stands for World of Kiran Agarwal, our digital channel, on YOUTUBE produces animation content for young children, through our 3D animation videos, which cater to children sensibilities giving wholesome entertainment and yet subtly imparting our rich value system. It is my give back to society. WOKA channel showcases the SABAK DEGI NAANI catalogue, that is pure fun time animation stories in movie format for children away from all learnings, yet again to learn- “values of rightful living”, that will help them reach and acclaim greater heights in life as achievers and visionaries in their own right. Music, songs, 2D / 3D colourful animations, lovable and relatable characters and yet an underlayer of imparting values is what WOKA tries to achieve . It’s a digital content that parents could rely upon, for their children to watch, without any iota of doubt and hesitation. Children can see our animation videos, make merry, sing and dance with the characters and enjoy themselves. WOKA is all and all about children and their happiness providing them entertainment with a clean environment and this is WOKA’s true USP .”
Apart from the animated series Sabak Degi Nani, is there any other plans?
WOKA channel will take out multiple catalogues in the coming year or two. For starters we will have 2 catalogues out from our WOKA stable, for sure , relating to children entertainment and that too in different genres. Both catalogues are in pre production stages. I will not want to reveal my surprise beyond this. As and now we are nearing its release children and their parents will come to know what we are offering them through “national Herald” and other print / digital platforms.
Is there any plans to incorporate educational topics also?
Yes, as mentioned above, there are multiple catalogues in the pipeline that are either in pre production stages or on approval stages that will deal with more intrinsic form of imparting education. Also there are various tie ups that are being discussed with BIG educational brands to get them on board so that we can showcase our future work through digital and smart educational facility.
Before the animated episodes are published how are they reviewed and by whom?
A dedicated team works in tandem with me to discuss the content. We brainstorm on every idea and every angle before it is approved for level 2. Then we run it through professionals who major with children psychology. We also have a team who speak to parents through a survey system to understand what are their first hand issues that they would want to address and find solutions about. The whole process is synthesised to every minute detail that one can look into before the story becomes an episode to be aired.
Who all are the characters in Sabak Degi Nani and what are their traits?
As of now all I will say is SDN-2 is fun filled with all the right ingredients that will intrigue children to its channel where they will get to see ADI(LION) DJ(DONKEY) GORGY(ELEPHANT) HUMPY(HIPPO) AND AJ(BEAR) in WOODWORLD JUNGLE and their experiences. For any more information on them I will request all of you and the young parents reading this interview to go to the WOKA channel and find out for themselves and I assure you that you will not be disappointed.
What are your future plans to expand WOKA?
WOKA channel aims to be a full-fledged, multi diverse channel showcasing multiple genres of work under its umbrella. Like NETFLIX and AMAZON , WOKA in future will have variables which are already being prepared and will be showcased in the immediate coming 2-3 years. Simultaneously we are looking at scripts for motion pictures purely in the animation content and have closed on international technicians for the same from now itself. I am sure WOKA will be seen everywhere wherever children are and their entertainment is concerned.
Kiran Agarwal: An alumnus of London School of Journalism got into the entertainment business more out of passion and love for showcasing content which is pure quality. Having authored and published books dealing in cultural awareness and religious rituals of India her profile boasts of many such achievements. She has to her credit as a writer, books with short stories on value systems for children which have garnered very good response amidst various literary personalities and has got acclaim in various Literary festivals of India.
She chose to foray in the web space as a producer and content maker, with her children animation show Sabak Degi Naani-Season 1 about a year back which is a series of small animation videos for children on Youtube under her channel WOKA and now she is back with Sabak Degi Naani-Season 2
“I chose the Youtube Platform to showcase our animation show as it has a wide access and reaches globally to one and all. In todays time and age there is nothing bigger than the internet and free to air platforms are very powerful when it comes to showcasing entertainment based channel for children. To me it was very clear that WOKA which stands for World of Kiran Agarwal, our digital channel, will produce only quality content, as quality is the only thing that will last in the long run. Through our 3D animation videos, which cater to children sensibilities, I want to provide wholesome entertainment for them and yet subtly impart our rich value system. It is my give back to society.”
When asked to elaborate further on Sabak Degi Naani-Season 2 “All I can say as of now is that this time Season 2 of Sabak Degi Naani is going to be grander and bigger in all aspects and like the earlier season, it is being made in bilingual language both in English and Hindi. One of the best creative teams have been roped in who have worked very hard and have taken the bar of Season 2 way higher than what it was when we started in the last season. We have, in Season 2, introduced some lovely characters who live in a jungle and each episode will show a different journey with these characters which children will connect to with their daily lives. How these characters overcome their difficulties and evolve as true winners is something that will inspire our children to become better than what they already are. Animations and bright colours are interwoven with music fun and frolic which children will enjoy thoroughly. Releasing On 11th April 2019, I urge all parents to see our Sabak Degi Naani-Season 2 on our WOKA channel with their children and I am sure that they would love the experience.
