Neha Kannan and Shruti Chadha presents Macala by Urli

A n experience that brings the flavours of the South to you. Macala means spices and South Indian food is rich in spices, so the name. T his time they bought dishes from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. They specialise in veg and non-veg. Few of the dishes were Kozhumbu which is a Tamil version of kadi, but thinner and without pakodas. It’s got curry leaves and has a distinct flavour. Vendakai Nallakaram, Lady fingers made in special spice mix from Andhra Pradesh. In Non- veg there was Chicken and fish. The fish was cooked in tamarind gravy, and is Chettinad specialty. They had around 12 different dishes. Varun Sharma, Neelam, Samir Soni graced the occasion with their presence at the event.
Neha Kannan and Shruti Chadha have studied Hotel Management from Manipal with a wide range of work experience in the industry. Neha is a Marwari, born and brought up in Chennai, married to a Tamil Brahmin who is a renowned TV and Radio Host Siddharth Kannan. She indulges in cooking authentic south Indian food at any chance she gets. Shruti is a punjabi, brought up in Chennai, started her career in the kitchen and continues to cook for friends and family. Both have their hearts in Chennai.
