Global Digital Health Summit 2025 Opens in Mumbai, Unveils World’s First AI Pyramid Framework

Mumbai, 20 September 2025*– The Global Digital Health Summit (GDHS) 2025 opened at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, with the unveiling of the world’s first AI Pyramid Framework, a structured roadmap for integrating artificial intelligence into healthcare. The three-day event has drawn more than 2,000 leaders from over 30 countries and is supported by the Government of India along with several global institutions.
The AI Pyramid Framework was presented by Dr. Rajendra Pratap Gupta, Chairman of GDHS, who described it as a blueprint for structured AI adoption in clinical practice, public health, and innovation. “Wherever there has been technology, it has created opportunity. Jobs will be created. AI brings phenomenal opportunity, and I believe it will create phenomenal jobs,” Dr. Gupta said.
For the second time in the history of the Global Digital Health Summit, a robot joined as an independent panelist. Treated like any other expert on stage, it responded to questions from the panelists and audience with precision and confidence, symbolizing the accelerating role of AI and robotics in healthcare. The moment underscored how technology is beginning to step into spaces once reserved solely for human professionals, reshaping not just care delivery but even the very discourse on digital health.
The summit is positioned as a platform not only for debate but also for practical engagement.
Participants are being offered hands-on training to develop their own AI tools, aimed at making digital health innovation more accessible across the ecosystem. A session dedicated to patients’ perspectives on digital health highlighted the importance of grounding technological change in the needs of those receiving care.
GDHS 2025 has been convened with wide institutional backing. It is supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (MoHFW), the Ministry of AYUSH, and the Government of Telangana as State Partner. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) is also engaged through the National Summit on Mental Health, Digital Health & Human Rights. Internationally, the gathering is supported by the IGF’s Dynamic Coalition on Digital Health. The summit also holds the distinction of being the official pre-summit of the AI Impact Summit 2026, to be organized under the aegis of MeitY.
Among the speakers was Indian cricket player Ajinkya Rahane, who connected his sporting experience with the future of healthcare. “Just like discipline and perseverance transform performance in sports, digital health and AI will transform how healthcare is delivered for every individual,” he said.
The program includes certificate masterclasses, specialized summits, and a digital health Expo showcasing new technologies. Discussions extend beyond clinical applications to regulatory pathways, India’s AI ecosystem, and the One Health approach linking human, animal, and environmental health.
The summit also carries formal professional recognition, offering 24 CPD credit hours, 15 CNE hours, and 4 CME credits. It will conclude with the Global Digital Health Special and Innovation Awards, which recognize contributions advancing digital health globally.
By launching the AI Pyramid Framework and convening international stakeholders, the Global Digital Health Summit 2025 has placed India at the center of global conversations on the future of healthcare.
