Governor appreciates lanterns made by tribal womens of ‘Vivek Rural Development Center’- Let’s resolve to empower women this Diwali

An attractive eco-friendly bamboo lantern made by the tribal womens of ‘Vivek Rural Development Center’ working for social, educational and employment generation in the forest area was presented to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan.
Manager of Vivek Rural Development Center Lukesh Vasudev Band, Training and Development Officer Mrs. Pragati Sachin Bhoir, Srishivarajabhishek Dinotsav Seva Samiti Durgaraj Raigad and members, Raigad Development Authority Working President Pandurang Thathele and social activist Bhagwan Kondlekar were present.
On this occasion, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari appreciated the bamboo items made by the tribal womens of ‘Vivek Rural Development Center’. He also appealed to the people to make maximum use of the bamboo lanterns made by the eco-friendly tribal women this Diwali and help them to get decent employment.
For the last several years, Vivek Rural Development Center has been imparting free bamboo handicraft training to tribal womens and needy women in Palghar district for their empowerment through financial assistance and honorable employment. They make a variety of eco-friendly bamboo handicrafts. This includes bamboo handicrafts and trained women are making 21 types of attractive products.
Part of this is the production of indigenous sky lanterns by this organization. These sky lanterns are made entirely of indigenous and eco-friendly bamboo. It has five types of sky lanterns. These include Jupiter Sky Lantern, Venus Sky Lantern, Saptarshi Sky Lantern, Dhruv Sky Lantern. These are available in all kinds of colors.
