Mumbai,February: Kangaroo Kids Education Limited (KKEL) organized a coding workshop for the children of journalists in Mumbai Press Club. The purpose of organizing this workshop was to spread the message that coding can be taught to the children as young as 4-year-old without a mobile or computer.
Kangaroo Kids International Preschool started the coding program in the last academic year for their preschool children at their Bandra center. The program does not use any technological devices in the early years, instead, it includes activities involving Lego block, worksheets and stories to train kids in progressive, patterning, algorithmic thinking and using positional languages and directions.
The workshop was conducted by Kangaroo Kids International Preschool Almeida Park center teachers Prabha Shetty and Amrin Charania. During the coding workshop, children not only enjoyed the workshop but also learnt about the directions, teamwork and showed the ability to take decisions. While some parents were surprised by the way the workshop was planned for children, some showed interest to come for more such workshops in the future.
