ROTARIAN LAL GOEL CALLS FOR CORPORATE INVESTMENT IN ORGAN RETRIEVAL INFRASTRUCTURE

Mumbai, July 16, 2025 – Rotarian Lal Goel, Founder and Charter President of the Rotary Club of Organ Donation International, has issued a compelling call to action for Indian corporations to allocate their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds toward establishing organ retrieval centres in underserved regions across the country.
Speaking at a conference on “The Role of Corporates in Organ Donation,” jointly organised by Omkara Assets Reconstruction Pvt Ltd, Acaipl Investment & Financial Services Pvt Ltd, and the Rotary Club of Organ Donation International, Goel emphasised the critical infrastructure gap that continues to hamper organ donation efforts nationwide.
Critical Infrastructure Gap
As Chairman of the Organ Donation India Foundation & GYAN, Rotarian Lal Goel highlighted the urgent need for organ retrieval facilities in areas currently lacking such life-saving infrastructure. “The mortality rate remains alarmingly high in India due to organ unavailability,” he stated, urging corporate employees to champion organ donation awareness initiatives within their families and society.
Conference Highlights
The event opened with a welcome address by Mr V V S Ravindra, CEO of Omkara ARC, who expressed hope that the conference would enhance understanding of organ donation’s vital importance. Rotarian Ramnath Pradeep, CSR Chair of RC Organ Donation, provided foundational insights into organ donation processes, while Inspire Secretary Rotarian Ruby Agarwal shared the inspiring story behind the formation of the Rotary Club of Organ Donation International.

Breaking Down Barriers
Addressing common misconceptions, Rotarian Lal Goel emphasised that no major religion opposes organ donation, seeking to dispel cultural and religious barriers that may prevent people from becoming donors. This clarification is crucial for expanding India’s donor base and saving more lives.
