Shyam Metalics & Energy Limited Strengthens Leadership with New Board Members 

Mumbai, 11^th August 2023: Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited (SMEL), a leading integrated metal-producing company headquartered in Kolkata, proudly announces the appointment of Mr. Shashi Kumar and Mr. Malay Kumar De as the new members of its Board of Directors as Additional Directors in the capacity of Independent Directors.

Mr. Shashi Kumar has an illustrious career spanning over 53 years, marked by diverse expertise across various domains. Notably, Mr. Kumar is an Ex-Chairman of Coal India Limited and has been working as an Advisor (Coal) to NTPC Ltd and various other esteemed entities, further showcasing his vast industry experience.  

On the other hand, Mr. Malay Kumar De is a seasoned retired IAS Officer with a distinguished service record. His tenure as the Chairman and Managing Director of West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) and West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL) has solidified his reputation as a transformative leader in the energy sector.
