Omkar Mahotsav 2018

“Shri omkareshwar mandir trust” we are pleased to inform you that Govt. of Madhya Pradesh in association with MP Tourism, Incredible India , NHDC and many other reputed  partners, going to organize a mega religious and cultural event named “Omkar Mahotsav 2018” at Omkareshwar Madhya Pradesh on 30-31st December 2018.

Omkareshwar Jyotirling is one of most sacred and prestigious temples of Lord Shiva across the globe. It is considered fourth amongst 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva which are spread all over India. It is also a very popular tourist destination.

There are many tourist attraction near Omkareshwar like Siddhwarkoot , Sailani Island Resort and more. Visitors may also enjoy activities such as Camping, Forest Trails, Photography Competition, Water Sports and Heritage Walk during this 2 days event.

many well known and celebrated artists like Ms. Shubha Mudgal, Mr Niladri  kumar , Ms Sunita Bhuyan and Prince Dance Group are performing in this event.

Shri Omkareshwar Temple

Shri Omkareshwar is a Hindu temple dedicated to God Shiva. It is one of the 12 revered Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva.It is on an island called Mandhata or Shivapuri in the Narmada river; the shape of the island is said to be like the Hindu ॐ symbol.

There are two main temples of Lord Shiva here, one to Omkareshwar (whose name means “Lord of Omkaara or the Lord of the Om Sound”) located in the island and one to Amareshwar (whose name means “Immortal lord” or “lord of the Immortals or Devas”) located on the south bank of Narmada River on the mainland.

Omkar Mahotsava’: The Event

Ø“Omkar Mahotsava” event to be held at Shri  Omkareshwar on Dec 30th & 31st, 2018, will comprise of the following features;

Øset-up will be at Nagar Ghat & Abhay Ghat.  It will be divided in the following zones

ØNadi Aarati

ØFood Zone

ØRegional Arts & Craft zone

ØCultural Program stage

ØArt of Living Workshops

ØWater Sports & Adventure Sports at Sailani Island (tourist spot)

ØTemporary Camping Tents

ØFireworks

ØIllumination of the Temple and surrounding areas

ØFood zone would have caterers for different cuisines from all across the state

ØRegional Arts & crafts zone would have artisans from various parts pf MP making & selling their products

ØCultural Programs stage where in performing renowned artist would present their arts each evening on different days as per schedule

ØThe cultural programs would represent the folk & classical music /dance performances from pan India

ØEvery day the schedule would be divided as;

ØEarly morning Yoga/ meditation/Art of Living Workshops

ØDay long handloom & handicrafts display & sale

ØCultural programs in the evening

ØExhibition & workshops would be on throughout the day

ØThere would be tenting accommodations for pilgrims on pay as use basis
