MUMBAI, 21st MARCH, 2023 : India’s leading commercial electric vehicle maker Altigreen today inaugurated its second retail experience centre in Mumbai – in Kurla. This is the company’s twenty-sixth (26th) retail dealership in India, following the launches in major metros like Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi and Bangalore.
Much like Altigreen’s experience centres in other cities, this new dealership in Mumbai will allow EV enthusiasts to access Altigreen’s range of electric cargo vehicles. Every element of the dealership has been designed to lend a welcoming feel especially to consumers walking in out of curiosity. Dr Amitabh Saran, Founder and CEO, Altigreen, said, “We are elated to partner with Fortpoint Automotive Private Limited, for our second retail experience centre in Mumbai. Currently, the intra-city movement of goods in cold chain transportation is carried out primarily through 4-wheeler SCVs having upto2.5ton GVW, and 3-wheelers. The desired temperature range for such vehicles is 0 to 4 degree Celsius, with a minimum volumetric capacity (internal) of 100 cu ft for 3-wheelers. The cooling on refrigerated vehicles is done actively through the AC/refrigerator unit, and passively through the thermal insulation material. The segments that require cold chain transportation on a mass scale are those that transport perishable goods such as Bakery & Confectionery, Meats, Seafood, and Beverages, Dairy, FMCG and Pharmaceuticals. With the launch of this new retail experience centre, Altigreen aims to cater to the segment of goods transportation that require cold chain logistics. The business team is working on integrating a refrigerated container on neEV 3-wheeler on a pilot basis.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sundeep Kumar Bafna, Managing Director, Fortpoint Automotive Private Limited, said, “We are excited to do our bit in helping businesses in Maharashtra transition to electric mobility. We are aligned with the recent E-mobility trends and already see a massive potential driven by the nation’s agenda of electrification. We are extremely happy to be able to introduce eco-friendly mobility and a sustainable future into our business fabric. We are very proud to partner with Altigreen in Mumbai and support them in their mission of accelerating carbon-free transport while making it accessible and affordable.”
