LED Expo Mumbai 2022 to cast focus on intelligent innovations in LED lighting space

Following the success garnered by its New Delhi edition, LED Expo is ready to make a comeback in Mumbai where it shall showcase next-gen advancements in smart and efficient LED lighting products. LED Expo Mumbai 2022 has garnered support from reputed industry associations and government bodies.

With an aim to highlight the growing technological advancements in LED lighting, LED Expo Mumbai 2022 will welcome the entire value chain of LED industry from 19 – 21 May 2022 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon.

With over 175 exhibitors under its roof, including brands like Cygnus Lighting, Geep Industries, LC Tech LLP, Lemonlite, Litomatic, Nirvana Lighting Pvt Ltd, Power Palazzo, Pride Lighting Pvt Ltd, Semiconic and Smartlight (Lightshop), the trade fair will display a wide array of LED products and technologies, including smart lighting & IoT controls, solar powered LED Lighting products and solutions, components, accessories and raw materials, manufacturing equipment, machinery and allied products, drivers and power supply, as well as signage and display products.

Among the top products and innovations at the trade fair include:

  • Wide range of solar lighting technologies like solar garden lights, street lights and wall lights by Pride Lighting

  • Components and solutions like LED drivers and Driver IC’s from Lumens Technologies

  • Hi-end LED modules, PCB terminal blocks and pluggable connectors by WAGO

  • Customized architectural and decorative lighting solutions by Smartlight

  • Variety of Cob Spotlights & Movable Downlights by Hans Lights

LED Expo Mumbai 2022 has garnered support from the Ministries, government departments and top industry associations, such as Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Ministry of Energy, New and Renewable Energy Maharashtra (MAHAURJA), Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), The Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST), Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA), The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), Indian Building Congress (IBC) and Luminaries Accessories Components Manufacturers’ Association (LACMA).

Speaking about the mounting influence of LEDs and the new edition of LED Expo Mumbai 2022, Shri Lokesh Chandra, IAS, General Manager, Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport Undertaking (BEST), shared: “LED based lighting technology is one of the fastest growing technologies that promises to provide reliable, efficient, effective and durable lighting solution for various IoT-based applications. LED lamps and luminaries exhibit the strongest growth trend among all the lighting technologies. Its combination with solar powered devices is bound to create a revolution in the field of energy efficiency, thereby contributing to reduce the global warming as well as be environment friendly.”

Elaborating on the role of LED Expo in bringing new technologies to the forefront, Shri Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), stated: “The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology is happy to note that Messe Frankfurt India is holding the LED Expo in Mumbai. Investment and use of energy saving technologies such as LED is the need of the hour. The exhibition has been providing an excellent opportunity to showcase state-of-the-art technologies. It will enable business leaders to have a greater understanding of the Indian opportunity in the LED sector.”

The Indian government’s favourable schemes, such as UJALA and SLNP, has created lucrative opportunities for the Indian lighting manufacturers. Moreover, a Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme of upto INR 6,238 crores (USD 815 million) has been approved to be given over a period of five years with the goal to boost domestic manufacturing of ACs and LED Lights in India.

Heeding the call for localisation and ‘Atmanirbharta’, LED Expo Mumbai 2022 will once again bring new LED innovations to the forefront with 90 new entrants, including GEEP Industries, Genus Electrotech, Geo Lite, Hans Lights, LC Tech LLP, Pride Light, Sunlight Cables and Zylos Technology, and stimulate close connections in the Indian LED sector through its interactive sourcing and networking platform.

LED Expo is part of Messe Frankfurt’s Light + Building Technology fair portfolio headed by the biennial Light + Building event in Frankfurt, Germany. The next show is a special and will be held from 2 -6 October 2022 as Light + Building Autumn Edition.
