Connects the world with the ‘dining-out capital of the USA’

Mumbai, 22 February 2018 – Emirates will resume its flagship A380 service between Houston (IAH) and Dubai (DXB) from 1 June 2018. This follows the airline’s recent adjustments to its US services with the launch of a new non-stop Dubai-Newark service from 1 June 2018 and the resumption of daily services to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando from 25 March 2018.

Houston will join more than 40 destinations on Emirates’ extensive global network served by its highly popular A380 aircraft, including Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Kuwait. Emirates will deploy its three-class A380 on the Houston route, offering a total of  516 seats, with 14 private suites in First Class, 76 flatbed seats in Business Class seats and 426 spacious seats in Economy Class, increasing capacity per flight by more than 160 passengers compared to the current Boeing 777-300ER.

The return of Emirates A380 to Houston will provide Indians travelling to the city with the award-winning Emirates experience which includes world-class entertainment with ICE, regionally inspired food menu and Wi-Fi connectivity on board.

Houston, a sprawling city in Texas, amalgamatesdiverse cultures, in the form of arts, music, cuisines and local festivals. The city is also home to NASA’s Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, a must visit for space enthusiasts. The center which opened in 1992, hosts more than 1 million visitors annually in its 250,000-square-foot educational complex. The destination holds the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and there is always something new to experience, from more than 400 space artefacts, permanent and travelling exhibits, to live shows and theatres.The metropolis has something for every age group, from Museums for science and arts to Children’s parks and zoos, making it a fun-filled destination which occupies the needs of the whole family.

Houston is also home to vibrant communities from all across India, working as IT professionals, or running motels, restaurants and other retail businesses. The 150,000 plus strong Indian community continues to grow in Houston, creating a large support system to cater to the spiritual, religious, legal, accounting and other needs of Indians in the city. The city is also famously known as the ‘dining-out capital of the USA’, and presents locals and tourists alike, with more than 10,000 restaurants, representing over 70 different countries and American regions, including a large number of authentic Indian restaurants.

Emirates remains committed to Houston, offering exceptional product and services. With the energy sector recovering and playing a large role in Houston’s resurgence, Emirates took the decision to reinstate the A380 services from 1 June 2018 in line with commercial demand.

The double-decker A380 is the world’s largest commercial aircraft in service and extremely popular with travellers. The Emirates A380 is renowned for its First Class Private Suites and Shower Spas, as well as Onboard Lounge for First and Business Class passengers to mingle whilst enjoying canapés and beverages prepared by the onboard bartender. Passengers in all classes can enjoy Wi-Fi to stay in touch with family and friends and Emirates’ award-winning entertainment system, ice, with more than 3,000 channels of movies, TV shows, games and music.
